Hailing from Dover, New Hampshire, Barry has lived on both ends of the "Tiny" spectrum. After graduating from the University of New Hampshire, Barry moved to New York City, where he worked selling technology to banks. Living on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, he rubbed elbows with the likes of Derek Jeter in his building.
One fateful day in 1999, a client of his asked if he'd like to go skydiving. Never having considered it before, and certainly not something he'd pay to do, when his client offered to take him and foot the bill, Barry reluctantly agreed. Upon landing from his first skydive, he knew this was something that would become a driving force in his life.
A short time later, Barry earned his USPA A-License in 10 days at Skydive New England. He went back and forth to the dropzone for a bit, and once he had acquired enough jumps, he decided to "cut away" from Corporate America and earn his instructor ratings. Since he started, Barry has amassed some 8,000+ skydives and has worked at a variety of skydiving centers around the country.
Barry has served as the General Manager at Skydive New England, Skydive University Campus Director at Skydive Sebastian, Manager of Freefall University Skydiving School at Chicagoland Skydiving Center, and he is now the School Manager at Skydive Elsinore. He is an AFF-Instructor, Safety & Training Advisor, a USPA Coach Examiner, and manages the Elsinore EXCEL Canopy Flight Training Program at Skydive Elsinore. His focus has always been on teaching people how to skydive, as he's never held a tandem rating. All of his instructional jumps have been with students going through the AFF program or seeking him out for professional coaching.
While Barry and Sydney do not have any children and have chosen to lead a childfree lifestyle, his students quickly become part of the family, and there are "Barry's Kids" all over the world.
Barry has an affinity for craft beer, spicy food, and metal music.
